Green Vein: Egypt to Italy energy interconnection
Green Vein is K&K's flagship Mediterranean electricity interconnection project: a 3,000 MW submarine HVDC corridor linking the Egyptian and Italian power grids along the strategic axis of Africa → Egypt → Mediterranean → Italy → Europe.
Anchored by technical pre-feasibility, regulatory analysis, and Italian grid-connection procedure work with CESI, alongside a milestone Cooperation Agreement signed with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) in October 2025, the corridor enables clean energy generated in North Africa to supply European markets and bolster continental energy security.
