Green Vein: Egypt–Italy power bridge

A high-voltage direct current (HVDC) power conduit linking North African renewable generation with European industrial grids. The initiative establishes bilateral energy security through sovereign co-development and long-term infrastructure stability.

Strategic transmission framework

Green Vein establishes a direct high-capacity energy conduit bridging Egypt's Red Sea renewable corridors and Italy's southern power grid. Engineering and regulatory development has advanced through comprehensive pre-feasibility, legal-regulatory analysis, and Italian grid-connection procedure work in technical partnership with CESI.

Institutional momentum accelerated with the Egyptian Cabinet's cooperation milestone in April 2025, culminating in the execution of the Cooperation Agreement with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) in the New Administrative Capital in October 2025 to advance final implementation studies.
