The Green Vein Project

In a groundbreaking leap toward a sustainable future, K&K Group, in collaboration with Siemens Energy, CESI Company, and Prysmian Group, unveils the Green Vein Project. This ambitious initiative aims to revolutionize global energy connectivity by laying a 2,800-kilometer high-voltage submarine cable from Egypt to Italy, creating the world's first direct green energy transmission corridor. With a capacity of 3 GW—sufficient to supply 5% of Italy's peak energy consumption—this project stands as a monumental infrastructure achievement and a beacon of international cooperation and advanced engineering.
Designed under the visionary leadership of Dr. Tajeddine Seif, the Green Vein Project leverages Egypt's abundant solar and wind resources, bypassing conventional power grids to deliver 100% renewable energy, thus redefining environmental responsibility and efficiency in energy transmission.

After three years of meticulous planning, addressing environmental and technical challenges, such as navigating the complexities of deep-sea cable laying with Prysmian Group's state-of-the-art technology, the project is set to move into its implementation phase in the second half of 2024.
